Privacy Policy — NoPeek
Last updated: April 2026
Overview
NoPeek is designed with privacy as its core principle. All face detection and recognition processing happens entirely on your device using Apple's Vision framework. No data is ever transmitted to any server.
Camera Usage
NoPeek accesses your Mac's front-facing camera solely to detect nearby faces. Camera frames are processed in real-time and immediately discarded — no images or video are ever recorded, stored, or transmitted.
Face Recognition
If you choose to enroll trusted faces (a paid feature), NoPeek stores only a mathematical representation (a vector of numbers) derived from facial landmarks. No photographs, images, or visual data of any kind are saved. This data is stored locally on your device using SwiftData and never leaves your Mac.
Data Stored on Your Device
- Detection settings and preferences
- Purchase state (encrypted in Keychain)
- Trusted face embeddings — numbers only, no images
- Peek event history, if enabled by user
- False positive reports, if submitted by user
Data NOT Collected
- No photographs or video recordings
- No facial images or thumbnails
- No analytics or usage tracking
- No data transmitted to any server
- No third-party SDKs or trackers
Network Access
NoPeek makes zero network requests. The only network activity is through Apple's StoreKit framework for in-app purchases, which is handled entirely by the operating system.
Data Deletion
All data stored by NoPeek can be deleted by uninstalling the app. Enrolled face data can be individually deleted from Settings > Trusted Faces. Peek history can be cleared from Settings > History.
Children's Privacy
NoPeek does not knowingly collect any data from children. The app does not collect data from anyone — all processing is on-device.
